A TX valve controls the flow of refridgerant to the evaporator ensuring maximum cooling. Should the TX valve fail, it can either allow too much or to little refridgerant to pass resulting in reduced performance or compressor damage.
All compressor manufacturers require the TX valve to be replaced or warranty does not apply.
